Venice Big Data

Our team will be building a new and improved City Knowledge Dashboard, as well as creating a new website that will display data visualizations of Venice-related big data. To populate the dashboard, we will be creating new and interactive widgets that will represent new data sources ranging from hotel and room bookings, day trippers in Venice, apartment rentals, and ferry riders. On our website, data.veniceprojectcenter.org, we will include data visualizations created by past VPC IQP groups, as well as new visualizations (created by us) of data that exists, but has yet to be visualized in meaningful ways. The current City Knowledge Dashboard serves as inspiration for what we hope to build. As with most VPC projects, our secondary goal is to create a project that will be spun off into its own product to put young Venetians to work in the STEM field.
